|great sounds, except no good thumpin kicks... rendom patch feature is waaaay cool, and gives you some crazy sounds to tool around with. it will stay in my grab bag of tricks for the forseeable future. only thing that is on par is the FXpansion DR-008.|

|big thick music machines. Owned a korg er-1 sold it and got waldorf attack plugin. Amazing, huge amount of voices and can load up as many machines as your cpu can take. very analog so mad that waldorf decided to produce a rack hardware version. Sound quality has punch. Those stuck in hardware land can well stay there becuase attack could be all I need. ( get pro52 and you will be setup)|

This is a drum synth, people should be clear on this, no samples to load, you program these sounds. High on tweaky, spacy timbres and very flexible. |
I can't think of any kind of music that wouldn't benefit from a bit of Attack in it.
Think Electribe A and R sound engines with more attitude and better UI or a vastly expanded, twisted cousin to ReBirth sans step sequencers. You can do the typical techno thing with Attack but why would you want to when you have so much more available to you?
It's a great synth that happens to be optimized for drum sounds. Reasonably priced with a certain Waldorf quality to the sound.
It takes some getting used to but once you do you could easily write minimal tunes using only the Attack.
