Rolling Your Own Having decided to build a synth to produce "closely tuned drones" which I had previously only been able to do in Csound or MAX?MSP was achieved without any real problems and few references to the manual. Making your own synths needs care and patience .Whilst it’s not difficult it does require some knowledge of synthesis. Once you have built the synth engine you can construct the front. This is fairly straightforward straightforward but I would have liked the ability to expand the panel to any size. As it stands synth/effect building is reasonably easy but I would have liked to have been able to hide the many virtual connections as you can in Opcodes MAX/MSP. Audio and signal leads would also benefit from being a colour coded.
