Sonic LAB: Spiffire Audio BBCSO Discover

With Louis Rugg   25-Jul-22

Spitfire Audio are aiming for their BBCSO Orchestral plug-in to own the orchestral education space. The library itself is the world renowned BBC Symphony Orchestra, recorded at Maida Vale BBC Studios which has been their home for decades, it's the classic sound of that particular orchestra.

Spitfire collaborated with the BBC to do their thing and have created a full Orchestral library that comes in three interchangeable versions - the big news is that their BBCSO Discover version is totally FREE, just like their LABS instruments. It uses Spitfire Audio's own engine and is around a 300MB download.

BBCSO Discover  is an easy choice for people who want to learn about scoring or orchestral instrumentation, or create orchestral elements to their work. With the new free version  you can work on your scoring and then if you need to expand on the articulations or mic mixes, scale up to the Core (£399/ 27GB ) or Professional (£899/ 628GB) versions, which offer more articulations Legatos and Solo/Leaders (Professional only).
