Extensive Aphex Twin Interview

Aphex Twin interviews are fairly hard to come by, but this one completed in 2014 after the release of his 'Syro' album is pretty special. It was conducted by Dave from Noyze Lab, and is taken from a no longer accessible blogspot page - now hosted by the wonderful Wayback Machine. Here's the preamble:

This interview was conducted over the course of a couple of months, the process began around the time the blimp went up before the release of Syro and was completed on 25.10.2014, after the albums release. some questions were inserted afterwards, answered amended etc, so the whole thing isn't sequential. all music tracks, photo's & images have been supplied by richard + photo's that were taken by other people have been noted. this is part one of two parts.

It's full of interesting conversations about the new album, it's artwork, and some of the gear used, as well as some amazing photos - including a purchase order for a DX100! A personal highlight is a reference to using the Roland MC-4 Microcomposor as being "like making tracks on a taxi meter". There is much more than I can sum up here, so best thing to do is read it for yourself.
