Band In Flames Signature Guitar

Epiphone introduces the Ltd. Ed. Björn Gelotte Les Paul Custom Outfit   03-Aug-15

Epiphone has announced the new Ltd. Ed. Björn Gelotte Les Paul Custom Outfit, the debut signature model designed by Björn Gelotte of the band In Flames, who they describe as one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time.

Björn Gelotte said, "When I got asked to do a signature Epiphone, I had only one guitar in mind, the Les Paul Custom. In fact, the first prototype of my Epiphone Les Paul Custom is my new No.1 guitar I play on stage. It's all I've played since I got it! I play it every show. I am very happy to say the least!"

Here's the details in Epiphone's own words...

The Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Björn Gelotte Les Paul Custom Outfit features the classic Les Paul profile with a mahogany body finished in a deep ebony gloss and trimmed with five-layer cream and black binding. Björn chose a Mahogany neck that is rounded to a custom '59 profile and topped with a beautiful Ebony fingerboard. Like all great Les Pauls, the neck is glued to the body with a deep set neck joint. The iconic Epiphone Les Paul headstock has In Flames' iconic "Jester" inlay on the front and a Ltd. Ed. logo in gold on the back. The guitar also features Björn Gelotte's signature in white on the Les Paul bell-shaped truss rod cover.

It takes a dynamic pickup that can match Björn Gelotte's fiery chops. For his debut signature Les Paul, Gelotte chose legendary EMG pickups with an EMG-85 USA "MetalWorks" active humbucker in the neck position and an EMG-81 USA "MetalWorks" active humbucker in the bridge position.

"Epiphone couldn't be more proud to introduce Björn Gelotte's debut signature model--the first anywhere in the world,"
said Epiphone President Jim Rosenberg. "Björn is one of the most exciting guitarists working today and he's turning on a whole new generation to the power of an Epiphone Les Paul."
