Roland D50 Sampled

Binary Music releases LA-50 for Kontakt and Ableton Live   11-Apr-14

Roland D50 Sampled

Binary Music has announced its new library, LA-50, a collection of sounds sampled from a Roland D-50 synthesizer.

They tell us that the upper and lower tones of each patch were sampled separately and their levels, pans and modulation effects can be adjusted independently. In total there are 100 instruments made from 2,486 samples - 2GB uncompressed. The samples were recorded dry, then carefully matched reverb impulses were created using a Roland SRV3030. All samples were recorded in 24 bit at 44.1kHz.

Pricing and Availability:
LA-50 is available as an instant download for £18.00 - €21.00 - $23.00, including VAT in the EU.

NOTE: It it unclear as to whether this content is licensed from Roland - who own the copyright of the original sound recordings of  the PCM waves. These were the basis of the original patch design by Eric Persing - of Spectrasonics. There is an explanetory thread over on Synthtopia's Facebook - we recommend you check it out.
