NAMM 2013: Amped Best Of Show Awards

The best guitar products from NAMM 2013   05-Feb-13

Best Guitar Software

Winner: TC Electronic TonePrint Editor

We've waited so long for the TonePrint Editor that we have to give this award to TC Electronic. The fact that you can now create your own custom patches for pedals is just great, and having been given a special preview of the software, we can say that it looks great, and it seems to work really smoothly.

It effectively gives you the ability to have a chorus patch in a delay signal, and allows access to a vast number of parameters.

You hook your computer up to your pedal, open up the software, and play around with the TonePrint software until you find a patch you like.

Best NAMM Moment

Seeing Orianthi jam with Mike Campbell at the Duesenberg and 65Amps party was incredible. Orianthi seems to have risen sharply through the ranks, and showed at various performances at NAMM that she has got some of the best chops in the business right now.

Jamming with Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs was the high point, but when Earl Slick also joined the stage, most people were rubbing their eyes with disbelief.

Sure, NAMM is a great place to see the coolest new gear... in fact, it's THE place to see the coolest new gear, but it's also THE place to see the best musicians. And NAMM 2013 did not disappoint.
