Kasabian could be covering the Christmas classic // Some Rights Reserved // Chris Worden
They speak highly of each other in interviews, but could Kasabian and Noel Gallagher be about to collaborate on a rock and roll cover of the Christmas classic 'Walking in the Air'?
According to UK newspaper the Daily Mirror, a confidential source has said:
"'The Snowman' animated film, from which the song comes, is getting a modern twist and there are a lot of beardy blokes, who remember the film from their childhood, who are really keen to get involved. Everybody wants to pay homage to the Yuletide carrot-nosed legend."
Producers are reportedly hoping to get Noel Gallagher involved, having already apparently signed up The Editors and Kasabian to contribute to the cover of 'Walking in the Air'.
The video for the original song contains scenes from one of the world's most famous Christmas films, 'The Snowman'.
The source added:
"Nobody wanted to do a straight cover of such a classic song, so it had to be a bit different. This was the only way 'The Snowman' could possibly get any cooler."
Sounds like it could be interesting! Of course, it could be a complete disaster... they'll be walking on thin ice, let alone walking on air (sorry, that was terrible).
