Wampler 'Hot Wired v2' Brent Mason Signature Pedal Now Available

Wampler have announced the official release of the new Brent Mason Hot Wired v2 pedal, a dual channel distortion and overdrive pedal which is inspired by the needs of legendary session guitarist, Brent Mason.

Building on the already notorious Hot Wired v1, the v2 has a few new cool features and tweaks which are inspired by Brent. The Hot Wired v2 is essentially two pedals in one box, an increasingly popular option in the pedal market, and an option which allows you to build your distortion tone by stacking both stages.

Two channels actually gives you three different distortion/overdrive sounds at any one time (channel 1, channel 2, channel 1 + 2), and both channels are suitably unique that you can squeeze a shed load of different tones out of this little fella, demonstrated perfectly by Brent himself in Wampler's demonstration videos.

The overdrive channel can give you your crunchy sounds, great for rhythm and bluesy tones, while the distortion stage can offer a thicker, dirty plexi sound with a nice little bit of electric filth.

The fun with the Wampler Hot Wired v2 though is that you can play around with the blend of both channels to find a setting that suits what you're after. Channel 1 puts a bit more power in your hands by offering a clean blend knob, adding to the range of overdrive available to the user, a really nice touch from the guys at Wampler.

Brian and the team have come up with yet another great sounding pedal which is sure to get a few people's hearts racing, and remember, if Brent's using it, then it might just appear on a few famous records. We can't wait to get our hands on one and see what it can do for ourselves.

Watch the video below to see (and hear) the pedal in action, as played by Brent.
