Following on from our 5 Essential Amp Sims And FX Racks For Guitar feature earlier this month we bring you details of another batch of 5.

Waves GTR3

GTR3 is Waves' take on amp simulation and effects and they say that they have "Captured the world's hottest vintage and contemporary amps, using revolutionary sampling techniques that go way beyond standard modeling." GTR3 has had input from guitar maker Paul Reed Smith who has contributed custom settings and you can, in fact, buy a version of GTR3 with a hardware PRS interface that transforms your unbalanced high impedance guitar signal into a balanced low impedance signal, reducing hum and retaining your full dynamic range.
