Line 6 Variax Is The Guitar Of The Year

We are drawing to the end of what has been a pretty good year for guitarists. We've seen the release of some incredible amps, pedals, guitars, and various other genius inventions designed to make life easier, or just make it a little bit more fun.

Line 6 have been rewarded by the public for their efforts on the James Tyler Variax 69 guitar, which has won the 2011 Electric Guitar of the Year at the MIA Music Awards.

"We are extremely delighted to win this award. With the involvement of master luthier, James Tyler, we have produced a great guitar that combines the feel of a finely crafted instrument with the flexibility and performance that Variax guitar modelling technology offers.” Commented James Owens, European Sales Director at Line 6.

The Music Industries Association (MIA) Awards are an annual celebration of the musical instrument industry. The awards honour the best selling and most reliable and innovative products in the UK, together with the best people, companies and initiatives in the sector.

James Tyler Variax guitars are available in three styles, each one reflecting the innovative designs of James Tyler in each curve, component and control. Acclaimed for his attention to detail in making custom, hand-crafted instruments for the most discerning players, James Tyler has designed guitars for the world’s most respected guitarists and sought-after session players including Steve Lukather, Michael Landau and Dan Huff.

The MIA also runs the industry charity, Music for All, which helps people of all ages to be able to start playing an instrument, especially school age children. It has the mission of “Making More Musicians”. For more information visit:
