The life of a Queen fan can always be a bit up and down, and unless you are a fan of over-processed RnB music with lyrical content so banal that it could have bored the moustache right off of Freddie Mercury's face, then you might not like Brian May's next project.

N-Dubz 'singer'... (vocalist?), has announced that he is flying to Los Angeles to record a single with Brian May and even shoot a video.

Brian May recently said that he was moved by Dappy's single 'No Regrets', in which Dappy says that he feels sorry for Chris Brown (the man accused of beating up Rihanna) because he has also "done been through it". May went as far as to say that Dappy deserves an award for the song.

Dappy was reportedly so delighted at May's appraisal of his song, which seems to infer that he does not regret certain domestic disputes, that he got in contact with the guitarist to suggest a collaboration.

To clarify, Dappy was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend, but was released without charge. The Music Room reports that the dispute was mainly down to Dappy's double-life as a husband and a 'player'.

The website quotes Dappy as saying:

"I've got Kaye, obviously - my babymum. I see it as being single to mingle. Straight up. Dappy's got a girlfriend, but he's still single to mingle.

"It just works. Kaye is my wife. I kiss her on the lips, but whatever happens, happens.

"I love my girlfriend and I love my baby, but our fans have got to know that we're available to them. We can't be tied down. We're not tied down."

The N-Dubz frontman has also been criticised for threatening the life of a BBC Radio 1 listener who made clear their dislike for Dappy on air. The Sun reported that Dappy left mail on the woman's phone saying:

"Your gonna die, U sent a very bad msg towards N Dubz on The Chris Moyels show yesterday Morning and for that reason u will never be left alone!! If u say sorry I will leave u alone u ****."

Brian May has worked with a host of young artists recently, including My Chemical Romance and Lady Gaga. He has also hinted that he would like to work with Jessie J.

Dappy is quoted by The Mirror as saying of the project:

"He said I deserve an award – I couldn't believe it! So I had to hit him up to work with me. I'm flying to LA in the morning to work on the video with him. "

We can only hope that the project has a mind-blowing solo for the entirety of the song, and it must be said that despite Dappy's seemingly fragile temper, he has earned himself a number-1 single as a solo artist, so it could see a whole host of young music fans introduced to Brian May in the lead-up to Queen's next release.

The next Queen release is due to be a compilation of recordings by Freddie and the band that were either never completed or just never released, it is due to make its way to the market in 2012.
