US Expertly presented by Leonard Bernstein      02/09/21

Leonard Bernstein was among the most important conductors of his time, as well as being a composer, pianist, music educator, author, and humanitarian. In this excerpt from 'The Unanswered Question', one of six lectures from 1973 for Havard University, he gives a 2-minute overview of the development of 12 tone music.

The entire series is described as 'an interdisciplinary overview about the evolution of Western European classical music from Bach through the 20th century crisis and beyond...dividing music into; Phonology (the study of sound); Syntax (the study of structure) and; Semantics (the study of meaning).
