Thanks heaven the PCs are so powerful today and have real-time VSTI abilities !!! Thus we don't have to pile so many racks just to be able to get some reasonable playback....
Here is a great link for the FVX-1 and the HX-1: www.xydex-technologies.com/yamahahx1/

Hi there, i own a Yamaha FVX-1 with english and german manual. Also a MBS-10 Midi-daterecorder for the FVX-1. The FVX-1 sounds great, because he has the soundchips and effects from the best e-organ of the world: the great HX-1, but the HX-1 has 3x 8-Operator FM,2x 4-Operator FM,2x 16-Operator !!! FM,2x WM/FM digital Drawbars like the CVS-10,3x AWM Tongenerators.

This module sounds really great, it's the only piece of FM gear I own and I must say that I'm very satisfied with it. There are lots of good presets and effects and last but not least it looks great. However, I don't own the manual and the user interface is not what we can call user friendly, which actually prevents me from getting all the sounds this beast could actually produce.
If anyone owns a copy of the manual, I'd be quite interested to get a copy.
I got mine for 180$ bundled with a microverb III

Well, it's the best sounding FM-Synth i ever heard. With the great Effects it's better than the DX-7 and later FM-Synths. Very very good! Buy it, when you can find it!

Is this a sort of pre-MIDI TX816, or the tone generation unit from the FX1 FM Electone flagship that replaced the GX1 and looked very similar.
sounds like it could have used the synth engine from the GS1 (you know the 8-op Preset FM thing that looked like a sort of baby grand and started it all)
