It's very nice analog synh, i sometimes love it, sometimes hate it. It's very nice to make some noise or TB like sounds. I use PROTONE for contemplating and making weird sounds from past time. If you can get it, just do it. it worth money you can pay. it is just simple analog synth, but every V.A. don't give you that fun as PROTONE. Believe :)

Nice 19´ racksynth in stable high quality. Full analogue synthesis. 2 oscillators, and filter switchable between 12db/24db and highpass or lowpass. Dedicated knob for each parameter. Waveforms either saw oder pulse, osc 2 can be switched to external signal, osc 1 additionally to noise. To my opinion the best thing about the protone are the extensive modulation facilities, which can be realised via some sort of "matrix". Modulation can be assigned in a wide range to both oscillators, filter, PWM and Pan or any combinations of these. Note that the modulation amount, in this case, can not be set seperately. This is an interesting tool for the dedicated tweaker and experimenter. The controller knobs don´t send or receive any MIDI data. The sound is fair, but to my opinion could be fatter. I was astonished, that I can achieve thicker basses with my Korg MS 10, though this is a single-oscillator model. But in relation to the current price and it´s facilities its worth the money. Great fun to work with.
