Simply amazing !!! I own it for 15 years and it's still my main MIDI workhorse. I made entire albums with it. I use it with a GR synth as a controller. Even with all tracking and midi delay, it can render extraordinary realistic tracks. If you know how to combine layers, and tweak the dynamics and effects, no need for a SC 88 pro. Toughest Roland synth ever. Needs good ventilation for longer sessions though, otherwise it will give severe glithches. This is the only problem I ever encountered in thousands of hours of use.

Underrated. It has up to 32 voices! The sounds are not astonishing, but like many have said, the sounds are clear and quite good. I enjoy modifying sounds, as many do, and this unit lets you do that. You can control things like, chorus, vibrato (attack, decay), reverb, pan, filter cutoff, pitch shift, velocity. Each of the 32 channels is assignable to a single midi channel. Ch 10 is dedicated percussion in both Midi inputs. There's even a handy MIDI input on the front if you like to patch you MIDI gear on the fly, or want to plug in a controller. Has RCA inputs as well which you can apply limited effects to.
As with many instrument presets, this one has many useful, but many average. Response is quick.
