I got the X3 back in '93 when it first came out. At the time it was a HUGE HUGE synth. The factory sounds and demos were impressive and blew me away. It has now dated to some extent, of course, but let's not forget that analog synths were dated in 93' so you just have to wait until that early 90s sound is back in fashion! Anyway, some sounds like pads, strings, EPs and organs still kick ass in 2006. Contrary to what some people say here, I found the ac pianos particurlaly good, with powerful bottom end and realistic high end. You could obviusly tell it was a multisample and had some 'jumps' in timbre but most people I asked would find it more 'acoustic sounding' in an imperfect sort of way than the Roland or Yamahas which sounded synthetic and brittle in the early 90s. Guitars were also great - those are dated now but back in 93 it blew everything else. All in all, it's still a very programmable synth so you can squeze all sort of stuff out of it (no res filters though!)

To erase all memory, turn power on while pressing CursorDown and Enter. Pressing the Seq and the '8' key will delete all songs

Hope this will solve the problem for you
