Great soothing ocean sound, open it up and hack the sounds from internal synth chips.presets suck, but if you know electronics and can dare to tinker with the chips inside to change the sounds of a few presets,go for it!hacked sounds are midi triggerable too.

I'm so embarrest but someone has to do it. I just recently found it buried in my basement and its missing a few keys. It was my first keyboard and i was actually using it as a drum machine when i was first playing guitar...."susan your the only one who has a copy of it!" It was cool back then for the drums, you know, it had a realtime sequencer i think. It has a cool sound effects area i think like wild west, ocean, space ect. and the space sounds are kinda quirky like space invaders or something maybe worthwhile sampling some of them, the "evening" one sounds kinda nice with woodpeckers or something. I admit i thought it was the bomb when it came out guess you could somehow use it if you had one already but if not i would have to say thats its not worth getting at all.! Doing the dirty work!

I just bought a MT-40 at a "minks to sinks" used crap sale, for $10 . The sounds are super cheesey buy fun. I think the first reviewer was wrong, it has a 1/4" output jack for phones, so don't worry about getting a converter. This thing is great... It is so cheesy that is has SWITCHES for the sustain and vibrato!! It uses the keys w/a toggle switch to change sounds! Ha! The whole thing is very fun. It has 1.05? octave of bass on the left side, with actual little buttons, for triggering the sounds, not keys. If you find one, you should probably buy it. I got it to compliment my Casio MT-240. Pretty cool, huh?

The MT-40 is a keyboard I got when I was about seven. Then I put it in a cupboard and it's only in the last few years I've started using it again. You can sticky tape down the fill-in key to get the bass drum to go bmbmbmbmbmbmbmbmbmbmbmbmbmbmbm, which is cool. Also if you use the synchro bass chord thingy on rock it plays 'Anarchy in the UK'! Julian Cope has used this to demo a hell of a lot of his stuff (including most of his first and second solo records) Never diss an MT-40
