The Roland MKB-300 is a basic master MIDI controller with 76 semi-weighted, piano-style keys. It is possible to store 128 "patches" (8 banks of 16) - for each "patch" it possible to specify split/layer/single mode, and for split/layer mode the MIDI transmission channel and patch number for each "part". There is a mod/pitch wheel which can be selected to operate on jut the "upper" part, or both parts. It is possible to adjust the modulation rate and depth via a couple of sliders. Around the back of the 'board there are 1/4" jacks for modulation on/off and sustain on/off (for each part). The keyboard, being semi-weighted, is IMHO a good compromise between a piano-type keyboard and the usual flimsy synth keyboard. Althought it is a bit heavy, it is possible for one person to carry the MKB-300 (unlike the 88-key version, the MKB-1000). Comments About the Sounds: |
