Thomas R Kolb writes:
A pretty straightforward but not very versatile synth. The sound is not very clean and the overall noise floor seems to be quite high - at least it was on the one I used to have. The AlphaJuno-2 has a velocity sensitive 5-octave keyboard with very light keys - not the best mother keyboard - but since the MIDI implementation is rather basic, it's not very likely that you'll use it as one anyway. The flimsy DX7 type buttons are absolutely terrible, and the only reason to get one of these synths is really the sound of those fabulous Roland filters.

Comments About the Sounds:
The filter sweep sounds are great. You can with some effort also create some incredibly cool Vince Clarke-type noises.
