From the guy who was behind much of the design of Quasimidi, the Spectralis has been in developement for some time, the Specktralis is described as an Analog Synthesizer/Beatmatrix/Filterbank. Its an open DSP based system, that means you can add synthesis algorithms as they becomne available. Indeed the USB connection allows this and transferal of samples into the machine.
