John Silveria writes:
The OB-8 has that classic Oberheim sound. Overall it is the most stable of the early Oberheim synths, but not as punchy as it's predecessor the OB-Xa. It is very fat and gritty sounding, but doesn't have the warmth of the Roland synths like the Jupiter 8.

Lots of front panel knobs and buttons and several of them have dual functions which are accessed in what is called "Page 2", but since those functions are not silk screened on most OB-8s it can be frustrating when you have to pull out the manual to figure out which to what.

Comments About the Sounds:
Great brass and monster bass sounds.

(Thanks to John Silveria for this info.)
