I own the engine with the expansion board and its great! you get all the polyphony at a lot less than the G2X keyboard version. if you enjoy any electronic/minimal type stuff you will love this period. But you can also program some deep trance type sounds into it very easy. I suppose I could see this being used for modern jazz or rock type stuff, at first glance it's designed for sound design and classic emulations, but it really shines for distortion/noise/ambient/industrial music

Comments About the Sounds:
Really amazing sounds, a stand out synth like the previous model. Programing of sounds is not easy to understand if you don't know the basics of sound design. Don't compair it to analog gear because it is just it's own machine and it has it's own unique voice. Sounds very diffrent when put side by side with the first generation Nord Modular series due to all new OS and new modules.
