Line 6 has introduced HX Effects, which they describe as a compact and pedalboard-friendly multi-effects pedal that offers 100+ effects drawn from award-winning Helix® hardware and software processors, as well as dozens of legacy sounds from the acclaimed Line 6 M-Series and Stompbox Modeler pedals.

Marcus Ryle, President, Line 6, told us, "We created HX Effects for guitarists who want all of the Helix guitar processor's world-class effects, but prefer to use traditional amp and pedalboard setups. HX Effects is the perfect companion to analog pedals and other digital effects, and enables guitarists to expand the capabilities of their existing rig with a robust collection of professional effects. And with its compact and streamlined design, we think HX Effects will look right at home on any pedalboard."

This is what Line 6 has to say...

Featuring the same HX audio engine as Helix processors, HX Effects leverages powerful DSP processing to run up to nine effects simultaneously. Eight capacitive-sensing footswitches, six scribble strip LCDs, and color-coded LED rings facilitate fast effect selection and editing, while an industry-leading 123dB of dynamic range provides tremendous depth and ultra-low noise, and a choice of true analog bypass and DSP bypass ensures tonal integrity in any situation.

HX Effects features 100+ HX effects, including distortions, delays, reverbs, modulations, pitch/synth/filters, compressors/limiters, EQs, wahs, and a six-switch looper. A legacy library of effects from the Line 6 M13®, M9®, M5®, DL4TM, MM4 TM, FM4 TM, and DM4 TM pedals is also included, and users can even load custom impulse responses (IRs) for stage/FOH routings and acoustic guitar body resonance.

Eight capacitive-sensing footswitches with color-coded LED rings, and six LED scribble scrips facilitate intuitive effect selection and editing. Simply touch a footswitch with your finger to instantly jump to any effect and quickly adjust its parameter. A true stereo throughput maintains the integrity of stereo signals from inputs to outputs, while selectable true analog bypass switching ensures nothing gets between you and your tone.

Extensive routing and control options include parallel stereo signal paths, two expression pedal inputs, two assignable effects loops (stereo linkable), and up to four amp switching outputs--making it easy to integrate HX Effects into existing pedalboard or studio setups. HX Effect's versatile IO capabilities can easily be used in 4-Cable Method rigs, allowing guitarists to place different effects before and after an amp's preamp.

Like Helix multi-effects processors, HX Effects can act as a command center for an entire amp and pedal rig. Real-time MIDI control enables you to send MIDI command and controller messages to other devices, and relays allow you switch amp functions--all from within HX Effects.

HX Effects isn't just for guitarists. It features a switchable line-level input that allows keyboardists, DJs, and more to add high-quality effects to their rigs--and it can even be used by engineers and producers as an "outboard" effects processor on studio productions.
