Lets face it, the Behinger X32 digital mixing console and all its variants make a compelling argument for digital desks, the price and features certainly impressed us when we reviewed. Here at NAMM 2014 Behringer show their continued commitment to the range by releasing the V2.0 firmware.

Enhancements include: better patch management with scenes as well as snippets - essentially allowing the ability to store and recall individual channels or groups settings to quite a granular level - this is something that theatre sound demands for cue and scene changes. Indeed, there are so many applications for the X32 familly that Behringer have reportedly sold in excess of 80,000 of these mixers which is an astonishing number.

V2.0 also brings more FX variants with DSP models of the Fairchild 670 limiter, Pultec EQ and LA and Teletronix limiters plus Behringers own Combinator. Many other minor workflow and operational improvements across the range have been made. We also understand that more updates are planned for the future - v2.5 was mentioned -  off the record of course.

The public Beta of X32 V 2.0 is available for free download from Behringer.
