A while ago Behringer showed us a prototype of their digital console the X32, at that time under glass and very much still in the development stage.

Since then lots has happened in the world of Behringer/Music Group, and their purchase of the highly-regarded Midas and Klark Teknik brands has allowed access to top-level signal processing and console engineering know-how, much of which has found home in this new X32 console - in fact Jan Duwe, who gave us an introduction to the X32, says the console is pretty much 'powered by Midas'.

It's a powerful piece of gear too, with innovative interface and added functionality provided by the inclusion of the AES-50 protocol, and an ancilliary stage box, the 'Digital Snake' S16 to expand capabilities.

It'll be avalable around late May/early June, and at a MAP of around $2,500, it's likely to shake up the market a bit!
