This MIDI-controlled 3D T-Rex Will Astound You

The talented musician and audio-visual tinkerer Hexial has recently shown a series of captivating oscilloscope experiments, a must watch for those who enjoy cool sound-to-light shenanigans!

Of his initial experiment, Hexial, aka Alex Herington said:

A 3D animated t-rex drawn on an analogue oscilloscope from 1982, with its redraw frequency modulated by MIDI from Ableton Live. The amplitude of the audio left & right signals move the X/Y position of the beam which cycles through the vertices of the 3D mesh hundreds/thousands of times a second.

I didn't invent though btw - it's just using software written by insanely clever people.

Whatever the origins, this demo is epic:

That's not all, a second demo exists that throws some seriously hypnotic patterns at the screen:

I'm using 2 synths (Serum) routed into the X and Y axis of the beam, changing pitch/effects with sine waves and saw waves. Beware, if you listen to it on headphones it might make your brain go weird because it's panned hard left & right!

I had the good fortune of playing on the same bill as Hexial at the Kickstart 02 Amiga party, so please show him some love on YouTube!
