Roland's TR-8S Rhythm Performer has upped the game for their drum machine range, the biggest new feature being the abillity to import and playback user samples (44.1, 48, 96 and 192kHz) with up to 600 seconds of available RAM.
There are also some additional effects - one per voice, two send FX and a Master FX. Each of the patterns also has up to 8 variations, plus 2 fills and an auto fill and scatter. In practice this means that as a performance unit the TR-8S takes things up a notch.
You also get three motion recording parameters per track - Tune, Decay plus an assignable parameter.
We got a visit from Roland's Global Artist Relations Product Specialist David Åhlund, who gave us a deep look at what the TR-8S Rhythm Performer (its full title) can do.
Available imminently, price is $699/€699
