Dave Smith Instruments have just announced the REV2 is coming to the desktop. Following in the footsteps of pretty much every DSI release for a while, the REV2 is now going be in both 8 and 16 voice versions.

They tell us that it will be available in October this year with a MAP price of $1,799 with the 8 voice at $1,299.

The REVE 2 desktop features the same two DCOs per voice, each with four waveshapes (sawtooth, triangle, sawtooth + triangle, and pulse), a sub-octave generator, and a 2/4 pole low-pass, resonant Curtis filter per voice, plus two types of sequencers, digital effects, and other enhancements designed to make it even more powerful that its predecessor, the now-retired Prophet '08. As before the patches from the (now retired) Prophet 08 will be compatible, but not the other way around.

Listen to the Rev 2 here.
