Welcome to our series focussed on using Ableton's Live software for live performance. As you will have no doubt seen, many people use Live as the basis to live performing and in many different ways.

This series is designed to give you some ideas and pointers to incorporate Live into your own live setup.

Your guide through this journey is Tom Lonsborough - he's a member of the live act 2 Billion Beats and also an Ableton Certified Trainer working out of the Manchester MIDI school, a very knowledgeable guy when it comes to working with Ableton Live.

In this part we start by looking at Tom's setup, how he hooks it all up and uses his MOTU interface to process inputs in real time in conjunction with Live's features.

When performing with the trio 2 Billion Beats, Tom uses Live to allow him to combine live electronic instruments, (Moog Minitaur, Dave Smith Tetra 4, Vermona DRM MKII, AcidLab Bombass) with Live's flexible in-the-box capabilities for certain elements, live input processing and automation.
