So you've got all the gear, all the moves and the gig. But sometimes, you can be lacking in inspiration - blank canvas syndrome. Often, all you need is the creative spark to start you off. Ableton agree, and have spent quite some time putting together One Thing - an ongoing series of 1 minute videos with tips from various artists on how they jumpstart the process when they just can't  see it.

With contributions from  engineer Hannes Bieger, producer Stoni, composer John Kameel Farah, Daedalus, Bwana and Kyoka to get things started.

How about, using the space in between the beats from a loop and combing with your existing beats, or finding rhythm in found sounds, or adding randomisations and panning left and right, or limiting yourself to finding rhythm in sounds only from a specific Youtube video as Bwana shows- all these things and more are discussed in the One Thing series..

It starts with 13 videos, with a new one to be added each month.

Ableton suggest you use if as a resource for finding a way to get you out of the creative doldrums as and when you need them. The One Thing series can be found at: Ableton.com/one-thing
