The Pioneer Toraiz SP 16 previewed at Musik Messe, where a glass case prototype was on display. Since then, things have been quiet, but Pioneer have now released a series of Tutorial videos covering various aspects of the Toraiz.
Whats different about the SP16? Well for starters its actually a sampler, rather than just a playback system, and its stand-alone. Something that people have been asking for from an MPC type sampler/pad machine.
We know that the Toriaz SP-16 is expected to hit stores around mid September, priced at around £1279/$1499.
One of the big things people will be looking for is familiarity - its going to need to be operationally familiar to lure existing or prospective MPC users away from a tried and trusted workflow and feature set.
Blimey. How Much?
