The Bob Moog Foundation has released a timeline of Bob Moog's life with events spanning from 1934-2005. They say that the timeline, replete with nearly 100 points from Moog's lifetime, is the most comprehensive of its kind, expressly created with the goal of providing a deeper insight into the inventor's professional evolution. Here's the story in their own words...

The timeline traces Bob Moog's journey from his early days in Flushing, New York, to his high school years at Bronx High School of Science and his doctorate studies at Cornell University. It explores the evolution of his company, which he founded in 1954, originally named RAMCO, then R.A. Moog Co., Moog Music, Inc., and Big Briar, Inc., and traces his other ventures including his work with synthesizer companies including Crumar, Synton, and Kurzweil.

The interactive timeline features newly discovered, intimate family photos and documents, such as Moog's elementary school report cards, and personal letters from his early years. It also draws upon the vast materials in the Bob Moog Foundation Archives, including several articles he wrote throughout his lifetime, posted in their entirety, as well as excerpts from his desktop notebooks, numerous prestigious awards, and a range of correspondence.

"We are thrilled to be sharing this new historical resource with the wide community interested in Bob Moog's true history," states Michelle Moog-Koussa, Executive Director of the Bob Moog Foundation. "Our interactive timeline provides a breadth of new images and information specific to the materials in the Bob Moog Foundation Archives. Part of the Bob Moog Foundation's mission is to inspire people through electronic music history. We hope the timeline helps to further that goal."

The timeline is an evolving project for the Foundation. It will continue to grow over time with new information being released on a periodic basis.
