We use the Tascam DR70D for our show audio recording, and were pretty excited to see the DR701D in a glass case in the lobby. So we hot footed it over to Tascam to see what the latest update to this 4-channel recorder had to offer.

Essentially, they've smartened up the design a little, and added a timecode support which can be read either via the standard BNC input, or via an HDMI input - some cameras will send TC at the HDMI out.

So what? Well it means that your audio recordings will be timestamped at the same TC time as the camera recordings, making syncing in post much more straight forward.
