Hunee is a producer and DJ hailing from Germany but now residing in Amsterdam. His DJ sets are an eclectic mix of genres that show off his wide array of knowledge and deep understanding of the dancefloor.

His debut album released earlier this year reflects his way of working behind the decks, straddling different genres and giving subtle nods towards his influences. The album has a beautiful cinematic quality that gives a thoughtful take on techno and house music.

One thing that struck me about meeting Hunee was his enthusiasm for getting into the studio and experimenting with things he had never seen before. He was almost always the first person in the morning to grab something and start recording.

At the Stekker festival on the Saturday his DJ set moved through many different genres but at no time did it feel forced, his love for good music was obvious from the get go.

Since returning from Studio Stekker I have been listening to the album on repeat.
