AVID have unveiled Pro Tools 12 and the new Pro Tools Free. With 12 there will be a new remote collaboration aspect, allowing people to work on sessions together remotely. This in itself isnot new, many have tried but so far none have made it a killer feature. With PRo Tools 12, this may change just due to the sheer number of users out there and the way its linked to a market place.

We havent seen this in action but as well as being able to pruchase plug-ins directly from within the DAW, musicians can monetize their music and their skills. We'll be interesed to see how this works in practice, but it could be a promising development.
