ES-335 Studio in Ebony finish |
Gibson says that if you are looking for major semi-acoustic electric guitar tone, looks and playing feel at a minor price they have two new guitars to satisfy that urge - The ES-335 Studio and ES-339 Studio. Here's their description of them:
ES-335 Studio
The ES-335 Studio is crafted to the classic formula of the Gibson ES-335, a near overnight success upon its introduction in 1958. Identical to the original specs are its body made from laminated maple with an arched top, two f-holes, and a solid maple core for enhanced clarity and sustain. Its stripped-down Studio ethos is revealed in a lack of binding and pickguard, streamlined controls, and simplified gold headstock logo. A major savings in price comes without compromise of quality, though, as evident in its Grover™ Rotomatic® tuners, TonePros™ AVR2 bridge and long-anchor tailpiece studs, CTS™ pots with Orange Drop tone caps, and Gibson's 57 Classic (neck) and hotter Super 57 (bridge) humbucking pickups. Get it in your choice of Ebony or Vintage Sunburst finish, in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer, naturally.
ES-339 Studio
The elegant lines of the original ES-335 are cleverly drawn down to render a familiar yet more compact playing experience in the ES-339 Studio. Its stripped-down Studio format offers a lack of pickguard and binding with "soft edged" body contour, streamlined controls, and simplified gold headstock logo. A major savings in price and weight comes without losing one ounce of quality, though, as evident in its Grover™ Rotomatic® tuners, TonePros™ AVR2 bridge and long-anchor tailpiece studs, CTS™ pots with Orange Drop tone caps, and Gibson's '57 Classic (neck) and hotter Super '57 (bridge) humbucking pickups. Get it in your choice of Ebony or Vintage Sunburst finish, in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer, naturally.
