The MI Press Awards – aka the MIPA – were handed out for the 14th time at the recent Musikmesse/Prolight+Sound show in Frankfurt. A total of 117 MI magazines worldwide vote for their favorite new products in 40 different categories covering Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, Pro Audio and Studio.
TC Electronic was nominated for a MIPA 2013 award in two categories. In the Guitar Effects category, the new Ditto Looper guitar pedal was nominated, and in the Bass Amp category, the BH250 TonePrint-enabled micro head was in the final race for the prestigious award.
Both nominees won their categories, adding the 11th and 12th MIPA award to the company's collection.
Tore Mogensen, Guitar Product Manager at TC Electronic, told us, "I'm very excited that the world's leading guitar magazines chose Ditto Looper as the guitar pedal of the year. We put a lot of effort into meeting the basic looping needs of guitar players, constantly resisting the temptation not to make the feature set overly complicated, but rather keeping it intuitive, fun and musical all the way through."
Morten Ehlers, Bass Product Manager at TC Electronic added, "BH250 is our first TonePrint-enabled bass head and having the press recognizing it as the winner of the bass amp MIPA award is a great honor. And it actually correlates very well with the response we have gotten from the bass player community that has really seen the potential in having a flexible, built-in effect slot that can be personalized by beaming TonePrints with a smartphone."
