Now we've had some time to digest the tidal wave of new product and releases for the NAMM 2013 show, we've decided to hand out a few gongs. When I say gongs I mean beautifully crafted JPG images.

This year saw a bumper crop of new products right across the board, though perhaps the focus was more on physical product, with less emphasis on software and iPad apps. That being said, we still have plenty to choose from as we declare the winners in the following categories:

Best in Show - Korg MS20 Mini

Now this could be controversial of course, it not strictly being a new product - the original was first
released almost 30 years ago. But what it represents is a major shift. We've always been told that analog is just not possible to produce at an affordable price. But with the Arturia Minibrute and now the MS20 Mini they have just shown the way.

Not only that - they listened to the users - remember us? We're the ones that actually buy the stuff, and created a classic revisited which has rather stunned everyone. Even though my original MS20 is now probably significantly devalued, I still think they deserve this one.
