Gene Simmons Given $200m to Help Reform Led Zeppelin

Gene Simmons has revealed that he was once offered $200m as bargaining power to get the remaining members of Led Zeppelin back together.

The money was put into a bank account for Gene Simmons by an unnamed major live music promoter, who were keen to see Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones replicate their 2007 reunion at London's O2 Arena.

The KISS bass player told the Sun newspaper:

"In 2009/10 I was given a few hundred million dollars in an account by a large concert promoter and given the task of reaching out to Jimmy and Robert and trying to convince them to get back together."

He added:

"Of course, it didn't work. Robert [Plant] just doesn't want to do it."

The remaining members of Led Zeppelin recently got together to promote their new film 'Celebration Day', but responded indignantly to questions about a possible reunion.
