Sometimes you can forget about how great Guthrie Govan is, but only if you're distracted by other cool stuff, like the Lord of the Rings trilogy and power tools.

This classic lesson from Guthrie Govan is a bit of a reminder as to the man's genius. He's one of the best all-rounders in the industry, he's got imagination, perfect rhythm, good speed, he knows theory inside out, and his sonic signature is instantly recognisable.

The best part though is that he's got a bit of a sense of humour, and that sometimes filters through to his playing, as you can see in the classic video lesson above from Lick Library, where he goes through the intricacies of slapping on electric guitar.
