Jack White recorded with Keith Richards in 2009 // CC // Scott Penner |
Keith Richards has recorded material with Jack White, and will be happy to release a collaborative record if the White Stripes guitarist is happy to do so.
The Rolling Stones guitarist revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine that he and Jack White recorded songs together in 2009:
“I don’t know if [Jack] ever considered that it was actually, like, master cuts,” he said. “But at the same time if Jack wanted to do it, I’d probably say, ‘Yeah.’”
Keith said that he 'enjoyed' working with Jack White, who has recently released his first solo album, Blunderbuss, and also called him a 'lovely player'.
Richards even discussed the possibility of a new Rolling Stones album in celebration of the band's 50th anniversary. If a new album does go ahead, Jack White could be in line to produce the album, with 'Keef' saying that "the door is wide open.”
The Rolling Stones are currently due to meet in July to discuss potential plans for their 50th anniversary bash.
