Noel has opened the next chapter in the Gallagher brothers debacle by filing a number of counter-accusations against Liam, at London High Court.

Liam Gallagher originally launched a libel lawsuit against Noel Gallagher earlier this year, claiming that Noel had lied when he accused the singer of cancelling their 2009 V Festival performance because he was hungover.

Noel has now returned fire by accusing Liam of "disrupting gigs" and "acting irresponsibly", he even accusses his brother of attacking him with a guitar.

An excerpt reads:

"Alarmingly for the defendant, the claimant was physically violent towards him. He went to his dressing room, fetched his guitar, and on returning began swinging the guitar around in the air like an axe, nearly smashing the defendant in the face with it.

"The claimant had a history over the years of not only throat problems and of pursuing such an incompatible lifestyle, but of treating Oasis fans and the defendant with disrespect by disrupting gigs, including walking off stage, assaulting them and generally acting irresponsibly."

It was widely reported that the lawsuit had been dropped, after Noel confirmed he had apologised to Liam for saying he had cancelled a gig due to a hangover.

Now it seems that the two are set to see each other in court next year (2012).

Penny Gallagher, the mother of the two brothers, has asked them to settle their differences outside of court, saying:

"Let them sort it out themselves."
