Image Line have had an eventful year so far, with the introduction of FL Studio Mobile for iOS devices - speculation has been rife that we’ll see FL Studio  on OS X sometime soon. I’m not sure about that, but more exciting news is that there are a preview of work in progress for FL Studio on Android devices.
According to their Android Roadmap - progress has been good. The latest update on the dedicated Android development pages shows a version of FL Studio working on the Samsung Galaxy S 2 and also the Motorola Xoom - a tablet device.

Android has been a notoriously difficult platform to develop for given the large variety of hardware and flavours of Android OS across the entire range. Another hurdle to audio usage also seems to be the difficulty in creating a real-time , low latency audio engine .

Its good to finally see some progress on musical applications - albeit in early stages - but my guess is that if anyone can do it, Image Line can.

Image Line say:
...FL Studio Mobile Android development has started, however, please do NOT expect a release version in the near future. We still have a long way to go.

Update - October 2011:
FL Studio Android development had progressed considerably
Screen resolution issues have been dealt with.

Work is continuing on the low-latency audio engine.

Thanks to Bartal for the story.
