Impact Soundworks has released Shreddage X: Electric Guitar Samples Reloaded, the much-anticipated expansion pack to their blockbuster "Shreddage" electric guitar sample library. Here's what they have to say about it...
This collection marks the 7th entry into the Impact Soundworks instrument catalog, used by thousands of composers worldwide.
Impact Soundworks, a joint venture between composers Andrew Aversa and Wilbert Roget, II, was founded in 2007 with the goal of creating innovative, affordable and unique sample libraries "designed with composers in mind."
"Shreddage X" upgrades and expands the content of the original library, adding new articulations (per-note vibrato, harmonics, tremolo picking and aggressive sustains), new dropped tuning (down to Ab), true portamento slides and legato for both single notes and powerchords, single note release stops, and all-new, easy-to-use patch mapping.
"When we released "Shreddage" in early 2010, we had no idea it would be such an enormous success among producers, composers and even guitarists looking to create truly realistic sampled rhythm guitar parts," said Andrew Aversa, lead designer of the library. "It was a no-brainer to listen to those happy customers and apply their feedback and suggestions to an expansion pack."
The library was designed and produced by Aversa, an award-winning composer and producer (Monkey Island 2: Special Edition, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix) who developed the original "Shreddage" as well as libraries like "Groove Bias" and "Koto Nation". Javier Gonzalez and Blake Robinson assisted with editing and scripting, respectively.
"Shreddage X" functions as an add-on to the original "Shreddage" library, adding 1,000 new samples recorded with the same classic metal guitar, pristine DI signal chain and 24/44.1 recording quality. The patches, programmed for Kontakt 4, are designed for easy, expressive playability. No special programming, keyswitching or pedal control is needed - all articulations can be triggered using the keyboard and modwheel.
Pricing and Availability:
"Shreddage X" is available for immediate download via the Impact Soundworks website for $20 as an upgrade to owners of the original library, or $69 as a complete bundle. More information:
