This set of videos is fairly technical - but they take a deep look at current research into how musicians communicate emotions through music.

The videos feature McGill Psychology Professor Daniel J. Levitin, whose latest research looks at how aspects of musical performance are used to express music.

Levitin has a wide-ranging background, as a psychologist, record producer and writer. He's the author of This is Your Brain On Music; has worked as a producer on albums by Blue Oyster Cult and Chris Isaac; and has published scientific articles on music cognition and neuroscience.
