First Professional Sound Recording Of New Marshall AFD100

Slash's new signature amp gets a road test   21-Sep-10

Slash has been testing this amp behind closed doors recently, but for the first time, Marshall have released footage of how their new AFD100 amp-head will sound.

This is an early pre-production model of the amp, which will retail at around £1,299.00. Here's what Marshall have to say about their new video:

"This is what you’ve all been waiting for, a professional recording of the AFD100 head! Our resident demonstrator Chris George managed to get his hands on a pre-production prototype and took the opportunity to try it out. Using a 1960B standard cabinet and Gibson Les Paul, this was recorded with a Shure SM57 microphone right here in our on-site theatre.

Bear in mind this is a pre-prod model so is not necessarily cosmetically correct, hence you’ll notice it has no front panel This video is purely to give you all an idea of just how awesome the Slash AFD100 Signature can sound!"

The real question is - does it give out the authentic Slash sound?
