I've not come across these instruments before, but I was pleased to get a demo of the WIVI V2.1 Orchestral Synthesizer which comprises of three instrument collections Brass 1 and Woodwinds 1, 2 and 3. The instruments feature proper Divisi rules, which basically means, if you create an ensemble of four instruments, playing one note will cause four players to play it, two notes, two players each and so forth. This has a major advantage over traditional sample based instruments as a section sample will result in lots of players: four notes of a four player sample will result in 16 players as the samples are not generally split. Arne Wallander kindly demonstrated some of the features of this instrument using the breath controller to great effect. But I recommend that you head over to the website and listen to the demos too. Available now as Audio Units, VST and RTAS for Mac and PC from €449
