iZotope, Inc. has released iDrum 1.6, a Windows XP/Vista compatible version of its popular iDrum virtual drum machine software. The update is free for registered iDrum customers.
Here’s all the details in iZotope’s own words…
iDrum turns a Mac or PC into a powerful, simple-to-use virtual drum machine. Building rhythmic patterns is lightning-fast with a built-in step sequencer and hundreds of included sounds and patterns that cover a wide range of musical styles. iDrum can utilize users' customized samples or those from professionally produced libraries. Beats in iDrum can be created from its internal step sequencer or by playing a MIDI controller, electronic drum kit, or even a QWERTY keyboard.
Drum machine newcomers will enjoy an easy learning curve in creating beats within minutes. Professionals will find that iDrum retains the same fun and fast characteristics of vintage drum machines combined with the versatility of a software instrument.
iDrum runs as both a standalone native OS X and Windows application and as a plug-in for Pro Tools, GarageBand, Logic, Ableton Live, SONAR, Cubase and more. This means users can use iDrum to create beats right within their favorite music software environments, perfectly synced to projects.
iDrum comes with hundreds of professional drum samples arranged in nearly two hundred files, each with its own preset patterns. Parts, samples, and kits can be mixed and matched to create virtually endless possibilities. Users can also import their own WAV and AIFF files to build custom kits.
