Yamaha have announced the n Series Digital Mixing Studios. Available as the n8 (8 channel) and n12 (12 channel) Yamaha say that these new hardware mixers combine the best of both the analog and the digital domains – a familiar analog control surface but with the power of digital integration.
Both models feature new mic preamps, Rev-X effects processing and a new ‘Sweet Spot’ morphing compression technology developed from within Yamaha’s own K’s Lab physical modeling team. Yamaha say that the characterized mic pre-amps with Inverted Darlington Circuitry bring unrivalled audio purity to the mixing/interfacing market.
Both models also feature tight integration with Cubase - So tight that there is a Cubase Ready LED. Yamaha believe that, once connected over Firewire to Cubase, n series becomes the perfect audio partner. They say that, with the software bundle including Cubase AI (Advanced Integration) the n series is a complete solution for any computer-based recording musician/producer who demands the highest possible audio quality.
